Bike Summit: What’s the Ask?
We’re just one week away from the start of the 2014 National Bike Summit and we want everyone to be prepared to make “the asks” on Capitol Hill. So here’s the legislation we’ll be focused on when we meet with our members of Congress and background on what these bills do.
In general, the most important message to get across in these meetings is that your community wants and needs safe and accessible biking — and these bills help to get us there. If you get asked any questions you don’t know, that’s OK. Tell the staffer or member of Congress that you’ll find the answer and get back to them. It’s a good excuse to follow up, and ask for their support!
