Sec. Foxx to Attend Bike Summit

A testament to the growing number and influence of bicyclists nationwide, the U.S. Secretary of Transportation will address the National Bike Summit for the sixth consecutive year.

Following in the footsteps of Ray LaHood, Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx will share remarks with the more than 700 attendees of the Summit on Tuesday, March 4, at 1 p.m.

Secretary Foxx’s experience and background is particularly well-suited as we discuss the theme of “United Spokes” at the 2014 Summit. As the former Mayor of Charlotte, N.C., Foxx has dealt first-hand with the issues of safety, congestion, equity and access that many leaders across this country face today. Foxx recognizes the critical importance of creating a transportation system that opens opportunities for all as disparities continue to widen in communities all over the U.S.

The Secretary, who took office last summer, will be attending the Summit for the first time this year, and we look forward to his insight and vision forward.
