Challenge: Easy as 1, 2, 3

Last month, new data revealed that bicycling ranks #6 among the most popular fitness activities in the United States. Through the National Bike Challenge, we’ve seen those fitness results right before our eyes.

According to our participant survey, nearly one-third of Challengers have lost weight and more than half have improved their well-being since the start of the friendly, online competition on May 1.

Those numbers are encouraging. Today, we hear from Bob Dunn in Minnesota, about his health story.

I had bikes when I was a kid, but I had only been on a bike once in the last 37 years. (I’m 55 now.) My sister bought me a bike at a garage sale last summer. Since September 2013 I have:

  1. Lost 30 pounds and 4″ off of my waist
  2. Reduced the amount of blood pressure medicine I take by 50%
  3. Ridden 3,300+ miles on trails, roads, and trainer
  4. Completed RAGBRAI XLII

I look better, feel better, and my clothes need to be tailored or replaced!
