Smart Cycling Recap: How to Host an LCI Seminar

As we get back into the swing of things in 2024, we wanted to take a quick look at some highlights from our Smart Cycling program in the last 12 months. Over the years, the League and our network of LCIs has expanded to more than 7,000 people, trained and equipped with the skills to teach Smart Cycling to adults and kids.

In 2023, the League worked with our partners across the country to put on a total of 27 LCI seminars, adding 290 new LCIs to our expanding community of dedicated instructors committed to empowering new and returning cyclists all across the country through education. Check out the gallery below for some of our favorite photos from last year’s seminars.

From coast to coast, we’re grateful to see this network of instructors grow each year. Every new LCI is an ambassador for better biking through education and is insured and certified to teach the League’s Smart Cycling curriculum, which is designed to reach people of all ages by improving skills, building confidence, and teaching others. This curriculum includes:

  • Smart Cycling (formerly called Traffic Skills 101)
  • Group Riding
  • Youth Cycling Skills
  • Bicycle Friendly Driver
  • LCIs are also empowered to tailor curriculum components to suit their audience
