Photos from the Future
It came at the end of a long week of keynote speeches and Powerpoint presentations, but Future Bike was an invitation to another dimension. As soon as the conference-weary attendees stepped in the room, there was renewed energy as we ventured into the unknown potential of the bicycle movement.
Hosted by the League’s Equity Initiative and Women Bike program, the half-day forum in Pittsburgh created space for candid and provocative exploration of the bike movement as it stands now and, more importantly, how we can make it more inclusive in the future.
From the opening session to the closing conversation, we stepped into the space where identity and mobility intersect — and the result was equally challenging and energizing. Yes, there was real talk. And, yes, we identified more questions than answers. But we also found strength in our diversity and shared commitment to advance bike equity.
If you weren’t able to attend, local photographer Lindsay Dill helped us capture the spirit of the event in the images below. Stay tuned to the League blog for additional recaps and next steps — and listen to the session recordings on the Future Bike webpage.
