Jamil Modaffari

Policy Specialist, (he/him/his)

Jamil supports Ken with policy initiatives to improve cyclist safety. Before joining the League in November of 2022, Jamil worked on the K-12 Education Policy Team at the Center for American Progress (CAP). At CAP, he helped develop and advocated for equitable, racially just, and community-informed policies that improve the quality of education provided to American school children. Prior to this role, he served as a Teach For America corps member, teaching fifth grade in Pueblo, Colorado. Additionally, Modaffari founded Pueblo City Lacrosse, where he provided students with free lessons, mentorship, and tutoring as well as created a Friday educational enrichment program focused on renewable energy and learning the game of lacrosse. He also previously served as a summer fellow at the Southern Poverty Law Center. As a summer fellow, he worked on creating an organizational framework centered in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Modaffari earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Colorado State University-Pueblo.
