Summit Scholarships

Scholarship Opportunities

Whether you’re a bike advocate, occasional bike commuter, League Cycling Instructor, or just someone interested in learning more about our movement to build a Bicycle Friendly America, the League’s National Bike Summit is the premiere event to strengthen your skills and knowhow to make biking better for everyone!

Hundreds of bike advocates from across the country meet in Washington, D.C. each spring for in-person interactive sessions, networking events, mobile workshops, and other opportunities to ride at the Summit.

Youth Scholarship

Anyone age 21 and younger can register to attend the National Bike Summit in DC for a little over $100! No application required! Youth scholarship recipients are just required to participate in an Advocacy Training (provided as a webinar by the League prior to the Summit) and one of the following:

  • Lobby Day (during the National Bike Summit)
  • a local advocacy event

Lobby Day is organized by the League, takes place during the Summit, and is an opportunity for bike advocates to meet with their representatives in Congress. A recording of the Advocacy Training will be made available for those unable to tune into the live webinar.

If you are unable to attend Lobby Day, you can opt to participate in a local advocacy event instead. To locate orgs in your area that may offer such opportunities, visit bikeleague.org/map and search by your city or zip code.

In addition to Summit scholarships, we welcome all youth to join the bike movement by becoming a League Member today at the discounted youth membership rate of $25.

Equity Scholarship

The League is committed to ensuring that people of all economic backgrounds have access to our events. An application for financial assistance to attend the National Bike Summit is made available each fall. The application generally closes in mid-January.
