Patricia Donnelly

Federal Policy Fellow, (she/her/hers)

Patti recently retired from her position as Executive Director of the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia (now re-branded as the English Empowerment Center). Similar in size to the League, she was responsible for strategic planning, board development, fund development, managing a $1.2 million budget, a staff of 14, and adult literacy and ESOL educational programs. Her professional experience spans three decades in the non-profit sector primarily in the performing arts, and education. Patti has a B.A. in Economics from Mary Washington College and an M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Marymount University. She also attended the Harvard Graduate School of Business School’s Executive Leadership Program. She has served on several non-profit boards and as an adjunct faculty member at Marymount University teaching in the Graduate School of Business. Patti balanced her career demands by taking fabulous European bike tours with her friends. She is excited to join the League as a passion project in retirement to learn, grow and give back.
