Active Transportation Leadership Institute
The Active Transportation Leadership Institute (ATLI) is dedicated to creating great communities for bicycling and walking by developing more effective advocates. At the annual National Bike Summit, the League hosts a day of ATLI programming for staff and board members of state and local bicycling and walking advocacy organizations.
ATLI at the 2025 NATIONAL BIKE SUMMIT
March 14, 2025 | MLK Jr. Memorial Library | Washington, DC
This year, ATLI takes place on Friday, March 13, following the 2025 National Bike Summit.
A kickoff happy hour for registered ATLI attendees will be on Thursday, March 12, from 6-8pm at the Brompton Store in Georgetown.
What is ATLI?
ATLI is a day-long convening of bike advocate professionals and emerging leaders of all levels to network with peers, build skills, share knowledge, and combine efforts in a shared national strategy to create a truly Bicycle Friendly America for Everyone. Anecdotally hailed as advocates' favorite day of the summit because of its informal, grassroots, and unfettered nature, it has grown into a particularly special convening for bike advocates.
Who Should Attend?
ATLI is open to anyone who identifies as a bike advocate. The content and conversations of the day are geared toward those who work or volunteer for local bike nonprofits and similar grassroots organizations. The afternoon unconference sessions allow attendees to participate in creating the agenda for the day, suggest topics for discussion, and contribute to the national bicycle advocacy agenda.
