As a volunteer and professionally, Ed Fendley has worked for walkable, bikeable, environmentally friendly communities. Ed served in the Federal government for more than thirty years, including at the Department of State, the Department of Commerce and the Environmental Protection Agency. Most recently, Ed worked in the EPA’s Smart Growth office, helping people create safer streets and restore traditional Main Street neighborhoods. Ed has served as an elected member and chair of the School Board in Arlington, Virginia, and serves as an adjunct instructor of energy and environmental policy at the University of Maryland. As a resident now of Flagler Beach, Florida, Ed advocates for safer streets as a member of the Citizens’ Advisory Committee of the regional Transportation Planning Organization.
