LCI Equity Scholarships

The League is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion in all of our work towards building a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone. In order to meet the promise of a nation where bicycling is safe, comfortable, and open to all, we must build a more diverse community of cycling educators.

Apply for the League's Equity Scholarship here.

Since 2020, the League has committed to doing the work to diversify our network of cycling educators through a scholarship program for our League Cycling Instructor Seminars. We have seen the profound effects of providing scholarships to help increase diversity in our LCI community. So with the help of Ford Philanthropy, we are continuing the LCI scholarship program in 2024. We are building on a legacy of 84 scholarships previously distributed with the help of previous partners such as Rebecca Rusch’s Be Good Foundation and Quality Bicycle Products (QBP).

Our scholarship application is now open for 2024 seminars. Sign up below to receive our eNews and further announcements about the scholarship program. You can also explore a list of upcoming and available seminars on our website.

We welcome Black people, Indigenous people, and people of color who are aspiring League Cycling Instructors to apply for a scholarship (value of $550) to attend a scheduled LCI Seminar. New seminars are being added often and we encourage applicants to visit the seminar schedule frequently if they do not currently see something close to them. Scholarship recipients are responsible for their travel and accommodations.
