League Board Vice Chair Encourages You to Vote
Hello to all members of the League!
About 8 years ago I was asked to take over the remainder of Preston Tyree’s term as a board member of the League, it was a whopping three months. I flew to Tucson to attend my first board meeting and sat in, offered ideas, and learned what I could.
When I was coming to the end of my illustrious three-month service, I was asked to submit my application to run for another term, well … I did, and I lost! I wasn’t deflated, exactly, but I was determined to try again down the road and found myself appointed a year later.
It has been my pleasure to serve, and I am now on my third term of three years and going strong.
We are always looking for potential board members in many communities of experience, not just cycling. This time we have a generous amount of qualified candidates and you can find out more about them on: https://bikeleague.org/league-board-candidates
The election for new members of the Board of Directors is open until November 15 at 2am Eastern Time, so be sure to vote by Monday, November 14. If your League membership was current as of October 27, you will have received an email from [email protected] on November 1 with the subject line, “Vote Now! Bike League Board of Directors Elections.” There is a unique link in that email message that will bring you to the secure election website. Please take the time to review and decide.
All the best,
Gail Copus Spann
Vice Chair, Board of the League of American Bicyclists
