How To: Showcase Your Business’s Bicycling Efforts
Any business can bridge the gap between itself and the greater bicycle community by giving its employees and the surrounding community the tools and encouragement for better biking. RDG Planning & Design’s office in Des Moines, Iowa, supports bicycle advocacy in their community by offering office space to local and state advocacy groups, such as Street Collective and the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative.
Rather than tell you what else RDG Des Moines does for bicyclists, we can show you! In their latest Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) application, RDG Des Moines included this slide deck that provides a fun and informative photo essay of their bicycling efforts and achievements. We look forward to seeing an updated version that includes their promotion from a Gold-level BFB to Platinum-level, which was announced last month in our Fall 2021 round of Bicycle Friendly Business awards.
Slide decks or booklets are a fun way to showcase bicycling at your business and strengthen your BFB application! Include information on available amenities for bike commuters, route maps, bike education opportunities, local partnerships and more to introduce both employees and the people you serve to the bicycle culture at your workplace. Check out RDG Des Moines’ example below.
Want to show off what your business is doing to support better bicycling? Apply to the Bicycle Friendly Business program before our next deadline on March 2!
