Canceling the 2020 National Bike Summit
At the core of the League’s vision for a Bicycle Friendly America are healthy, sustainable, vibrant communities. With the continuing spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and to live our values, the League has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 National Bike Summit that was to be held March 15-17, 2020, in Arlington, Virginia, and all associated side meetings.
We have put together a comprehensive online program of top sessions from the scheduled 2020 National Bike Summit as well a call-in lobby day. You’ll find more information at bikeleague.org/summit.
Every year, we look forward to hosting hundreds of bike advocates for the National Bike Summit, but we cannot in good conscience proceed with a large gathering that could potentially put you, your loved ones, the venue staff, and others in the community at risk of exposure.
We understand that, like the League, you have incurred costs associated with the Summit and we are seeking to minimize the financial burden incurred by everyone involved. Participants have the option to donate their full registration fee as a tax-deductible gift toward our work to build a more Bicycle Friendly America for everyone, or request a partial refund of your registration fee. We are working with the Hyatt Regency, our venue, to secure larger refunds for our conference space. If you previously registered, please look for an email with further instructions.
The League of American Bicyclists extends our deepest gratitude to the speakers, sponsors, presenters, volunteers, and attendees who have already devoted so many hours into making the 2020 Summit happen. We are canceling this year’s Summit, but continuing the fight for safer streets for everyone. Thank you for joining us on this ride.
