Apply to join the League Board and lead our movement for better biking

The support of League members sustains the work we do everyday to protect the rights of people who bike and make bicycling better for all. We thank League members for their commitment to our mission to build a more Bicycle Friendly America, and we are asking: would you consider doing more – to lead the League, to guide us, and to inspire us?

Deadline to apply is July 10, 2020

Consider applying to join our Board of Directors.

If you are passionate about our work to build a more Bicycle Friendly America and you are committed to the cause, the League needs you. Our mission is to lead the movement to create a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone. As leaders, our commitment is to listen and learn, define standards and share best practices to engage diverse communities and build a powerful, unified voice for change. We know bicycling brings people together and more people biking is good for our communities, our country, and world.

Besides a dedication to our mission, we are searching for League members who can bring the skills and vision to help grow our membership, strengthen our programs, and build a more diverse and inclusive community of people who bike. The League has committed to having a Board, staff, and a network of partners and allies that represent and are connected to America’s diverse communities. We have set a goal to serve as a model for other organizations to do internal and external equity, diversity, and inclusion work, including hiring processes, staff, and Board representation. We are seeking the most diverse and representative group of applicants for our Board election as possible.

Apply to join the League Board

After submitting a statement of qualifications (deadline July 10th), the League Board Governance Committee will determine if applicants are qualified to be placed on the ballot. Then, League members like yourself will have an opportunity to vote in September for four directors. Learn more here »

If you choose to apply to join our leadership team or remain committed to being an active member, thank you. Your participation in the League is what makes us uniquely grassroots and independent.

Sincerely,
