Apply for Women Bike Funding!

I could hear the cheers and applause through the wall at the National Women’s Bicycling Forum, as three leaders shared the tools and lessons learned from their year of innovative work to engage more women and girls in bicycling.

The “Winning in Women Bike Advocacy” panel was one of the top-rated sessions at this year’s Forum and it was easy to see why: it gave participants real-world examples and tangible ideas they could implement in their community. From getting Girl Scouts on Wheels to engaging Latinas of all ages, the campaigns were diverse, but they all had one thing in common — funding from the League’s Women Bike program!

We want to keep that momentum going, so we’re opening a call for applications for 2014 Women Bike Mini-Grants.

One of the primary goals of the Women Bike program is to seed, support and spread the best campaigns and ideas that are getting more women on bikes. Our mini-grants aim to provide best practices on women’s bicycling outreach and engagement to advocates and leaders nationwide, by sharing effective strategies, programs and materials to inform and be utilized by others.

If you’re working on a campaign or project aimed at engaging women or girls, click here to apply for funding. To be eligible, you must be a member of the League and your organization must be a 501c3 (or be fiscally sponsored by a 501c3).

This year, we’re awarding $3,000 in mini-grants. The maximum amount awarded for any one grant will be $1,000. Applications are due April 28th and recipients will be notified in May 2014.
