How to make the most of your lobby day at the 2019 National Bike Summit
Whether the 2019 National Bike Summit is your first or you’ve been to more than most, we have a few tips to share with you ahead of the 2019 Lobby Day. With more than 70 new Members of Congress and 24 new members on the Transportation Committee, we all have something to learn about the changes happening on Capitol Hill and how League members and Summit attendees can be a positive influence for bicyclist and pedestrian safety. The League has also been hard at work on the Hill educating offices about legislation we support that would improve the safety and accessbility of bicycling.
Preparing to Lobby
If you missed our first webinar, or simply want to find out how to be a more effective advocate for bicyclists’ rights, please watch our webinar on the new Congress, the next transportation bill, and what to expect when you head into your first meeting.
You can also review the slides from the webinar and find more tips on what to wear, what to expect, and how to respond to common advocacy situations by checking out our compendium of tips and hints.
The League’s 2019 Policy Asks
In our second webinar, we went over the legislation Summit attendees and the League will be promoting on Lobby Day and throughout the year. For an in-depth overview of the bills we’re supporting on Lobby Day, review “The Asks” slides and watch the webinar:
