Safe Streets Bill Gets Rolling

Its been a great week for complete streets!  

On Wednesday, Rep. Dina Titus (D-NV)  suggested that Congress should encourage Complete Streets to ensure cost-effective use of transportation dollars to lower the stress on the Highway Trust fund.

Today she joined as a co- sponsor of HR 2468 The Safe Streets Act. And not just Representative Titus — Reps. Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ), Michael Grimm (R-NY) and Delegate Eleanor Norton Holmes (D-DC) all joined original Sponsor Representatives Doris Matsui (D-CA) and David Joyce (R-OH).

If passed, this bill would ensure our nation’s roadways are built with all users in mind – including bicyclists, public transportation vehicles and riders, motorists and pedestrians of all ages and abilities.
