Bicycle Friendly Communities

Encouragement: Boca Raton remains a star in South Florida. There has been a 10 percent increase of bicycle lanes on arterial streets between 2003 and 2005. The city is dedicated to installing bike lanes; offers strong education initiatives; and has a new, multi-modal Tri-Rail system. Programs like Boca Raton’s new Bicycle Suitability Map, and its Safety Safari, are models for other communities to consider when putting together their own programs to promote bicycling. Tour of Boca Raton rides are 16-mile, easy-paced, police-escorted bicycle rides throughout Boca Raton. The rides take place once a month starting in November and ending in April.
