Lessons from Across the Pond
Phillip Darnton is making the trip across the Atlantic Ocean to speak at the 2014 National Bike Summit.
Darnton, executive director of the Bicycle Association of Great Britain, is ideally qualified to inspire, inform and entertain participants at the National Bike Summit in 2014. His background of corporate marketing, including 3 years as the CEO of Raleigh UK, and leadership of the UK's National Cycling Strategy Board and Cycling England over the past decade matches the unique blend of industry and advocacy leadership at the Summit. What's more, he was given the ultimate recognition of his work on the NCSB with the award of an OBE by the Queen.
Darnton will address the importance of messaging to our success. Drawing on the UK's experience of losing central government funding for bike infrastructure and education three years ago, he will share some of the lessons learned to help us move a cycling agenda forward at the national and local level.
