Get Your Own ‘Quick Guide’!

During my time with the League, one piece of feedback has remained consistent: It’s difficult to get people to commit to 9 hours of bike education.

So today, we’re proud to introduce our brand-new Smart Cycling Quick Guide! Order yours here.

Over the past few months, I’ve explored ways in which we can create an entry-level guide that can be used to market the Smart Cycling program. This exploration, combined with a lot of input from League Cycling Instructors (LCIs), has helped with the development of this accessible Quick Guide to our material.

The new manual appeals to all demographics and levels of riding experience. We feel confident that through new illustrations and language, we will be able to bring more students into the classroom and get them to come back for more. This pocket-sized guide will allow education instructors, advocacy organizations and others to share bike education knowledge more easily. The guide provides the very basics of riding safely, and then encourages readers to contact a local LCI for further instruction.

Take a sneak peak inside, with sections including information on fitting a helmet:

Locking your bike…

Signaling and scanning to other road users…

Manuevering through intersections…
